Sum the card values; cards 2-9 are face value, 10s and face cards are 0, and Aces are 1.

If either side reaches a total of 8 or 9 with the first two cards, it is a 'Natural' and the round ends.

Depending on the initial totals and specific baccarat rules, a third card may be drawn to improve the hand.

The hand closest to 9 wins. Since this is no-commission, Banker wins pay 1:1 without deductions.
